Trash/Recycling Pickup Tomorrow
This Wednesday is a red Wednesday, which means trash and recycling pickup. Please make sure you pick up containers after pickup tomorrow night. They do not belong on the sidewalk after tomorrow night.

Bottle Cap Artist
A VCU graduate launched his startup armed only with a pair of pliers and 10,000 discarded bottle caps.
Josh Stolberg started RVA CapWorks in February. He uses tin snips and a metal press to sculpt beer and soda caps into flowers, stars, birds, signs and anything else his clients can think of.

Stolberg, who works full-time for power company Alstom, said he spends about 30 hours on the weekends flattening and assembling the pieces.
Stolberg started developing the idea for the company about two years ago. He constructed a Halloween gladiator costume using 3,200 caps. The 17-pound costume took 250 hours to make.
For now, Stolberg works out of his Oregon Hill home. He said that if demand picks up he would look for a separate work area and a place to sell the sculptures.
Dennis Dolan, R.I.P.

DOLAN, Dennis A., a lifelong resident of Oregon Hill, passed away April 8, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents; and is survived by his sister, Sheila Dolan. A graveside ceremony will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 1400 S. Randolph St., Richmond, Va. 23220.
Time Out, VCU Student Renters
It’s that time of year when many VCU student renters are finishing their classes and exams and getting ready to move on.
The VCU administration and the City of Richmond are trying to avoid some of the previous problems with public dumping. Please work with them to recycle and keep our neighborhood clean.

Overlook Trail Work Coming up
There was a meeting with contractors and City staff on site yesterday at the ramp below the Overlook at Oregon Hill. The paving of the area and addition of handicap railing will begin soon. Work is anticipated to begin within the next week to week and a half.
Please be aware that this area will be a construction site and not accessible during the project.
This work stems from state greenway grants that the Oregon Hill Neighborhood Association previously applied for and won with the help of Napi Ippolito.
