As a follow-up to a meeting on April 7, 2007, City staff has completed a draft parking study for the West Cary Street area between Cherry Street and Belvidere Street and is in the process of drafting guidelines for a potential new Zoning District that could be applied in this area. An informal meeting on these topics has been scheduled for Tuesday, November 13 at 6:30 pm at the Randolph Community Center, located at 1415 Grayland Avenue.
The November Near West / Downtown Community Assisted Public Safety (CAPS) meeting is scheduled Wednesday, November 14, 2007 @ 6PM @ Dominion Place, 1025 W Grace St. Ukrops has granted us permission to park in the first row of parking spaces, facing W. We are still continuing to have a problem with property crimes (mainly thefts from autos) but even property crime was down 6%. The Alliance to Conserve Old Richmond Neighborhoods (A.C.O.R.N.) paid tribute to the individuals that are “in the trenches” renovating and revitalizing Richmond’s historic neighborhoods at its annual Golden Hammer Awards last night. The winners were announced in the categories of Best Residential Renovation, Best Commercial Renovation and Best Infill Construction, with the award for Best Infill Construction going to Allen Townsend (Whippoorwill River, LLC) for his work at 610 Idlewood Avenue (Allen Townsend, designer; Victorian Homebuilders, LLC, contractor).
