As a follow-up to a meeting on April 7, 2007, City staff has completed a draft parking study for the West Cary Street area between Cherry Street and Belvidere Street and is in the process of drafting guidelines for a potential new Zoning District that could be applied in this area. An informal meeting on these topics has been scheduled for Tuesday, November 13 at 6:30 pm at the Randolph Community Center, located at 1415 Grayland Avenue.

Lieutenant Lisa Drew reports “another great month for Sector 413 and thanks to the cooperation of our community – crime is continuing to go down! Violent Crime was down 50% this month. We are still continuing to have a problem with property crimes (mainly thefts from autos) but even property crime was down 6%. 610 Idlewood wins ACORN Golden Hammer
The Alliance to Conserve Old Richmond Neighborhoods (A.C.O.R.N.) paid tribute to the individuals that are “in the trenches” renovating and revitalizing Richmond’s historic neighborhoods at its annual Golden Hammer Awards last night. The winners were announced in the categories of Best Residential Renovation, Best Commercial Renovation and Best Infill Construction, with the award for Best Infill Construction going to Allen Townsend (Whippoorwill River, LLC) for his work at 610 Idlewood Avenue (Allen Townsend, designer; Victorian Homebuilders, LLC, contractor).
