With all of the bad news in the world available on the web, the least the T-D could do would be to publish one photograph of our beautiful Memorial. The Galanti’s, the Memorial’s staff and the Memorial itself is a genuine jewel and is worthy of more than a hot-link.
Memo to Scott: if you desire an expansion of the Richmond Peace Education Center, donate a portion of your own money to the center. In addition to receiving some funding from the Commonwealth, the Virginia War Memorial is also supported by the donations of private citizens. By the way, Merry Christmas in this season of peace.
I am not against expanding the Peace Center. but it certainly should not be done “instead” of expanding the War Memorial. Those folks died in foreign wars and more are dying each day (which is why it is being expanded – they are running out of room for names).
I do not support our invasion in Iraq. However, an appropriate protest against this war, or against war in general, should not be aimed at the War Memorial. As long as America keeps sending these kids off to die in War, we are obligated to honor and acknowledge their service.
I am not against acknowledging people for their service. All I said is I wish RPEC was expanding instead of the War Memorial.
I have personally donated to RPEC.
None of our freedoms would endure without the sacrifice of our soldiers, our rights all exist because of their bravery and courage. Much love and thanks to the freedom fighters of the U.S.A.
Personally, I wish there would be an expansion of the Richmond Peace Education Center instead.
