This past week the City put up many ‘No Parking’ signs up for performing vacuum leaf removal on Monday morning.

This was a joke wasn’t it? How can we be in a budget crisis and our neighbor hood be schedlued for leaf collection? There weren’t any leaves on our block. GROSS WASTE OF FUNDS!
Huge piles of leaves on our block. Thank goodness they finally came. These leaves compost and eventually get washed into the river, causing nitrogen etc to wash into the Chesapeake Bay harming plant life and consequently wildlife. Our streets havent been cleaned since last Fall. Unfortunately most of the leaves (as on your block) have already blown away over the Winter.
This is the dirtiest I’ve seen the streets in Richmond since I moved here. Mostly it is due to all the sand thrown on the snow and decomposed leaves. The whole city is due for a spring cleaning.
