Due to the snow, trash/recycling pickup will be delayed a day from the regular red Wednesday to Thursday this week. Please make sure you pick up containers after pickup Thursday. They do not belong on the sidewalk after Thursday night.

In recycling news, the Virginia Senate has adopted SB1103 introduced by Jeffrey L. McWaters, a Virginia Beach Republican, which would explicitly authorize the commonwealth’s cities and counties to decide whether to impose a ban on plastic bags in their jurisdictions.
Now I am hearing that if you account for President’s Day and lingering snow, trash/recycling may not be till Friday, if at all this week. Go figure.
