Earlier this week, workmen took down old material on the side of a duplex on the 600 block of S. Laurel. Is this the end of ‘ghetto brick’ for Oregon Hill?

I was coming off of the North Bank Trail the other day, and rode up into that dead end loop at the bottom of Oregon Hill. There’s a neat vacant house down there that’s got some of the ghetto brick (http://www.flickr.com/photos/murden/8523576929/in/set-72157632905677568/lightbox/).
Seeing that reminded me of this post, so I rolled around the neighborhood to see what was really left and took photos of what I could find: http://www.flickr.com/photos/murden/sets/72157632905677568/with/8523576929/
Thanks, John. Yeah, that vacant house is still going through legal wrangles but will probably be auctioned by the City at a Motley’s auction sometime this year.

I lived in OH from 1980-1996 and worked for City of Richmond Bld Insp during that period. I found a 1940’s bld permit for the installation of that stuff on my house at 413 S Pine and costs associated with it etc.My wife and I took it off in early 80’s.
