Musket training on Sunday:
Join a costumed historical interpreter for a discussion and demonstration of the primary infantry weapon of the American Civil War. Learn how a Civil War soldier trained and fought with the rifle musket. Program includes a blank, black powder firing.
All programs are free with paid admission unless otherwise noted and last 45 minutes to an hour.
I wonder if Tredegar ever put Oregon Hill on their large interpretive map inside the museum that showed the surroundings. I complained years ago that Oregon Hill was left off the map, even though many of Tredegar’s workers lived in Oregon Hill. The map showed the Fan but not Oregon Hill. It really upset me when the park ranger told me that he thought the map was just showing the surrounding neighborhoods that have been “fixed up.”
