Richmond Road Runners Club will be hosting a 10 mile race Saturday. Driving out of the neighborhood Saturday morning may be interesting. From the map, it looks like the runners will come down Laurel Street to the Oregon Hill Parkway to 2nd Street.

This Richmond Road Runners Club Eastern Regional Championship race is run on the streets of Richmond. The race is designed for runners. The course is a single loop through Richmond streets. It starts and ends at the State Capitol (9th and Grace Streets). The course goes west on Grace Street, running through Byrd Park and returning by Hollywood Cemetary and Oregon Hill. The course continues up Second Street to Franklin finishing on Bank Street at the foot of the Capitol. The race features chip timing and awards three deep in five year age groups. The course will be USATF certified.
So that’s why Franklin St was barricaded this morning.
