  1. 1> I hope this is not true, though I can understand if the event’s size and exposure are getting difficult to manage.

2> I sincerely appreciate what Slaughterama has done to promote more bicycle riding.

  2. it’s your neighborhood that’s hard to manage! but this is just the beginning. good luck to you scott.

  3. As unfortunate as it is, some revelers tend to carry the party off the island and into the neighborhood. I guess the profanity shouted from the streets during the Easter Vigil at St. Andrew’s was to be expected, and was even tolerated; the smashing of a stained-glass window was beyond the pale. I’m with Scott – either beef up the police patrol in OH during such events, or close them down.

  4. Joe, just for the record, despite what some people might think, I don’t believe the police are necessarily the best or only solution. The Slaughterama organizers are re-grouping and re-evaluating the event.

But that said, I am very sorry that St. Andrew’s was disturbed and vandalized (this is the first I have heard about that, and I thank you for the info), just as I am sorry that some Slaughterama attendees were attacked (see later assault post). Clearly there is something to be said for responsibility and accountability, peace and understanding (and just so I don’t sound like a complete hippie, shame and self-defense also).

There is a lot of drama floating around about this past weekend, and I am not interested in this site joining in on it.
Even the TImes Dispatch has picked up on it:
